We have been keeping bees on Pepys Road since 2010 and at present have three hives. We have planted our garden with lots of insect-friendly plants and our bees seem to be thriving on them! Each bee will produce around one-twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime so we want to encourage lots of nectar-producing flowers to feed them.

The honey from our hives comes straight from the extractor and into the jar. We don’t heat or treat it in any way. We simply filter it to remove any foreign particles while preserving all of the goodness our bees worked so hard to put in.

We have left a box of honey on each hive to help the bees survive the winter and to say ‘thank you’ for all their hard work.

We have lived in the area since 2000 and love being a part of the local community and part of the Hill Station’s new vision. Telegraph Hill is a great mix of people with a lot of talent!
